Funeral services for, Elbert Wilson Malone, age 78 of White Oak, are scheduled for 11:00 AM on Friday, June 29, 2018 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints of Longview, 1700 Blue Ridge parkway, Longview, TX 75605, with Brother Mike Hill conducting. Interment will follow at Lakeview Memorial Gardens, 5000 W. Harrison Rd. Longview, TX. The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 28, 2018 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Grubbs-Loyd Funeral home in Gilmer.
Elbert passed away on Sunday morning, June 24, 2018 at his home. He was born on March 21, 1940 in Cooper, TX. to the late Olin Eugene Malone and Margie Olene Davidson Malone. Elbert served honorably in the U.S. Navy during the Lebanon Crisis. He earned his Master Electrician Certification, and started Advanced Electric Inc., and was a Master Electrician for Spring Hill ISD for twenty years. Elbert was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Longview, the White Oak Lions Club, and the IBEW. He enjoyed fishing, racing and rebuilding cars, dancing, spending time with his family and friends, or spoiling his beloved dog, Cooper Joseph.
Elbert is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Pamela “Pam” Malone of White Oak; sons, Sean Malone and Aaron Malone both of White Oak; daughters Jessica Hampton and husband Glen of White Oak, Jennifer Malone of White Oak, and her fiancé, David Bray; brother Ray Malone and wife Janet of Longview; sisters, Glenda Faye Malone of Paris, Judy Malone of Paris; two grandchildren, Billy Williams, II, Elizabeth Vela; one great-grandchild, Audrey Rose Vela; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Billy Malone; and sisters, Joyce Malone and Cyndee Lewis.
