Wendell Neil Ellison

Wendell Ellison, 68, of Gilmer, went home to his Lord on Tuesday, March 2, 2021. He was born on December 22, 1952 in Gilmer, to Robert Leonard and Editha Ann Tutor Ellison. Wendell served his country proudly on the Army during Vietnam. He married his wife, Tammy on December 8, 1986, in Gilmer, and worked for the City of Tyler in the Water Department until his retirement.
Wendell enjoyed his fellowship in the Odd Fellows lodge, spending time with his family, and enjoyed wood-carving.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Adam Ashworth; a granddaughter, Shyanna Caldwell; and two brothers, Donald and Jerry Ellison.
Wendell is survived by his wife, Tammy Ellison; son, Aaron Ashworth and wife, Katie; daughter, Patty Pinson; brother, Hilton Ellison; sister, Sioux Johnston; six grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held 10:00 AM Tuesday, March 9, 2021, at Concord Cemetery in Upshur County, Texas.
