W.D. �Dub� Crawford DIANA �Services for W.D. �Dub� Crawford, 86, of Ore City will be at 2:00 P.M., Sunday, May 20, 2012 at Grubbs-Loyd Chapel, in Diana, with Brother Durand Crawford officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Grubbs-Loyd Funeral Home in Diana. Interment will be at Holly Springs Cemetery in Garrison on Monday, May 21, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. He passed away May 13, 2012 in Longview after a lengthy illness. Dub was born August 9, 1925 in Garrison, Texas to A.B. and Vera Crawford. He attended school in Garrison and joined the U.S. Army, finishing basic training at Ft. Sill, OK. . Dub proudly served in the U.S. Army during WWII as a T/4 in the 987th Field Artillery Battalion. A lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Dub was also a Master Mason, and endowed member of Scottish Rite of Freemasonry. He was a crane operator in the open hearth at LSS for 30 years before his retirement. He was known for the love he had for his family, friends, country, his land and his jeeps. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Charlyse Crawford, Ray Nell Matthews and Mildred Samford and brothers; Jack Dempsey Crawford and Smithy Crawford. Those left to cherish his memory are his loving and devoted wife of 66 years, Helen, sons; Durand Crawford & wife Cathy and Grady Crawford, daughter; Gail Kuykendall & husband Curtis, grandchildren; Carri, Daniel, Cody, Noah, Nicole, Lyndsey and Stephen, great-grandchildren; Katie, Evan, Savannah and Ryder. The family will receive visitors on Saturday, May 19, 2012, 6 to 8 P.M. at Grubbs-Loyd Funeral Home in Diana.
