Robert W. Newsom DIANA �Services for Robert W. Newsom, 81, of Ore City will be 10:00 A.M., Friday, September 5, 2014 at Ore City United Methodist Church, with Reverend Doug Smith and Reverend David Williamson officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Grubbs-Loyd Funeral Home in Diana. Interment will be at Ore City Cemetery. He passed away September 2, 2014 in Longview. Robert was born October 17, 1932 in Ore City, Texas to William Albert and Ethel Loraine Newsom. He served in the U.S. Army before returning to Ore City where he was owner of Newsom�s Grocery Store. Robert was a member of the Lions Club and the Masonic Lodge in Ore City and of Ore City United Methodist Church. He served on the City Council from 1968 until 1979. Robert is preceded in death by his parents and first wife, Glenda M. Newsom. He is survived by his wife Glenda, daughters: Robin Newsom of Denver, Colorado, Sherry Morgan and husband Stewart of Ore City, Lisa Haynes of Bloomburg, Texas and Donna Lindsay of Flower Mound, Texas, brother and sister-in-law: Weldon and Rosie Newsom, 5 grandchildren: Holly Martinez, Sean Morgan, Curtis Brown, Hanna Lindsay and Hudson Aydell, 4 great-grandchildren: Levi, Cameron, Luke, Cooper, nieces, nephews and numerous friends. The family will receive visitors on Thursday, September 4, 2014, 6 to 8 P.M. at Grubbs-Loyd Funeral Home in Diana. Please leave online condolences at www.grubbsloydfhdiana.com
