Robert Clyde “Bob” Brown, 84, passed from this life on Saturday, January 26, 2018, in Gilmer at his home. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, February 3, 2018, at Enon Baptist Church from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
Bob was born August 8, 1933, in Phillipsburg, PA, to Richard L. and Maude Elizabeth Brown. He worked for many years in the healthcare industry as a representative. Bob also retired from The Air Force after many years of service and was an ordained Southern Baptist Minister.
Along with spending time with his family, Bob dedicated his time to community service and service to his fellow man through Bethesda Masonic Lodge #142 A.F. & A.M., Gilmer, Texas. He served in the fraternity for over 50 years.
He was preceded in death by his spouses, Billie Marie of 36 years, Betty Jane of 23 years; a son, Robert C. Brown, Jr.; brothers, Blair O. Smith, Richard L. Brown, Jr., John T. Brown, Frederick L. Brown, and Albert M. Brown.
Bob is survived by his children and spouses, Darrell Glenn Brown and Max, Deborah Lynn Brown and James Philyaw, Rebecca Brown and Bobby Fountain, Richard Lee and Sharon Brown; a daughter-in-law, Sandra Rhoades Brown; brothers, Wayne E. Brown, David R. Brown, Edward M. Brown; sisters, Alice A. Davis, Dolly E. Peterson; nine grandchildren; ten great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
