Ricky Childress

Services for Ricky Childress, 62, will be held 10:00 AM Wednesday, September 2, 2020, at Grubbs-Loyd Funeral Home with Reverend Elbert Jones officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park in Gilmer. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 1, 2020, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Grubbs-Loyd Funeral Home in Gilmer. Mr. Childress passed away on Saturday, August 29, 2020.
Ricky was born on January 24, 1958 in Gilmer, Texas, to William and Betty Fielden Childress. He worked for Luminant Energy as a dragline operator. He also was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his family. He is preceded in death by his parents.
Ricky is survived by a son, Chris Childress and wife, Toni; daughters, Brandi Hale and husband, Jeff, Ashley Smith and husband, Ian; brothers, Wesley Childress and wife, Tammy, Kim Childress; grandchildren, Destiney, Colton, Sheridan, Olivia, Emilia, Adelaide, Rilynn, and Elias; great grandchildren, Kyller and Layne.
