Obituary for Richard Lewis Conner

Richard Lewis Conner DIANA �Services for Richard Lewis Conner, 82, of Diana will be at 10:00 A.M., Tuesday October 29, 2013 at Ore City Church of Christ, with Brother Johnny Coleman officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Grubbs-Loyd Funeral Home in Diana. Interment will be at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery. He passed away October 25, 2013, at his home. Richard was born August 28, 1931 in Dallas, Texas to George & Ida Mae Conner. He retired from USPS as a rural mail carrier after 44 years of service, received the Million Mile Club award and was active with the National Rural Letter Carriers Association. Richard was an elder since 1989 at Ore City Church of Christ. He served his community on the School Board, Quarterback Club, 4-H, Cub Scouts and Little League. He served his country with the National Guard. Richard is survived by his son: Chris Conner of Diana, daughters and sons-in-law: Renee & David May of Plano, and Gina & Thumper Donald of Diana, grandchildren & spouses: Jake & Ashley Conner, Cara & Blake Heger, Jesse Hensley, Kaleb Hensley, Morgan Donald, Jake & Kourtnie Donald, Holly & Arthur Johnson, great-grandchildren: Boston Conner, Ainsley Conner, Jaxon Heger, Slayten Donald, Sutton Donald, Maddyn Donald, brothers: Charlie Conner and Hubert Conner, sister: Lily Pearl Parno, numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and sisters-in-law. He was preceded in death by his parents, and wife of 59 years, Wanda Jean Conner. The family will receive visitors on Monday, October 28, 2013, 6 to 8 P.M. at Grubbs-Loyd Funeral Home in Diana. Thanks are expressed by the family to Compass Hospice for their special care. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.
