Linda Joyce Clifton was born January 13, 1943, in Upshur County, to Truman Lewis and Sybil Mae Barber Garrett. She was a loving mother and grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family and church family. She was a member of Coffeeville Baptist Church, and enjoyed fishing. Linda also liked spending time tending her garden, flowers and was a great cook, especially deserts.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Raymond E. Clifton, Sr.; a brother, David Garrett; and a sister, Saundra Garrett.
She is survived by her children and step-children; Joey Levon Dye and wife, Peggy, Sherry Lynn Childress and husband, David, Michelle Cox and husband, Ricky, Raymond E. Clifton, Jr., and wife, Alicia; brothers, Jerry Garrett, Gregory Garrett, Ronnie Joe Garrett; sisters, Nancy Koons, Juanita Patterson, Ann Garrett, Paula Hathcoat; twelve grandchildren, and numerous great grandchildren.
A visitation will be held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Tuesday, May 4, 2021, at Grubbs-Loyd Funeral Home in Gilmer. Graveside Services will be held Wednesday, May 5, 2021, at Pleasant Grove Cemetery, in Upshur County.
