LeNora Jo Poe Johnson

Memorial Services for LeNora Jo Poe Johnson, 84, of Gilmer will be held 3.00 PM Saturday, May 25, 2019, at New Beginnings Baptist Church. Mrs. Johnson passed away on Sunday, March 10, 2019 in Gilmer. Interment will be in Lockney, Texas in the family plot.
LeNora was born October 30, 1934, in Levelland, Texas, to Paul C. and Pearlimae Stegall Poe. She graduated as Valedictorian from Dimmit ISD in 1952. She graduated from North Texas State Teachers College and attended Prarie Bible Institute. She enjoyed spending most of her time as a Missionary. LeNora married James F. Johnson on November 23, 1961, in Campbell, California.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Darrel and Cecil Poe.
She is survived by her husband, James F. Johnson; sons, James Nathan Johnson, Timothy Joel Johnson; daughters, Celia Ann West, Dorcas Ruth Manley; sister, Rebecca Idalia Meyers; eleven grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the American Cancer Society, Parkinson's Foundation or to the benevolent fund at New Beginnings Baptist Church in Gilmer, 1977 St. Hwy 155 N., Gilmer, Texas 75645.
