LaJane Carpenter

Funeral service for Mrs. LaJane Carpenter, 73, of Gilmer, will be held 2:00 P.M, Monday, November 26, 2018, at Grubbs-Loyd Funeral Home Chapel in Gilmer with Bro. Ronnie Shipman officiating. Interment will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service. Mrs. Carpenter passed away on Friday, November 23, 2018.

She was born on January 1, 1945, in Holdenville, Oklahoma to Leroy and Hattie (Thompson) Creswell. Mrs. Carpenter was a musician. She enjoyed playing and making music, working in her garden, fishing, traveling and camping.

Mrs. Carpenter is survived by her husband, Lonnie Carpenter of Gilmer; sons, Audie Morrison and wife Kathy, Leroy Morrison and wife Jan; daughters, Brenda Upchurch and husband Billy, Debra Johnson and husband Stan; all of Gilmer; brother, Billy Creswell; six grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Jimmie Creswell.
