Karl Dee Jenkins

July 8, 1936 — April 15, 2021

Services for Karl Dee Jenkins, 84, of Longview, are scheduled for 12PM, Monday, April, 19, 2021 at the Kelsey Heritage Center. Karl passed away Thursday, April 15, 2021 at his home.
He was born July 8, 1936 in Vernal, Utah, and graduated from Utah State University where he met his wife, Jacqueline Ann Weiler. Karl Dee and Jackie married on August 26, 1959 at the Lion House in Salt Lake City.
He was a lifetime member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where he was a faithful member and worker.
Karl was a graduate of Unitah High School, he was later recognized as an outstanding alum. He entered the Army in 1961, where he served as a construction surveyor and achieved the rank of sergeant before being honorably discharged. Karl Dee was a civil engineer, working in mining and construction for the Hughes Tool Company. He was a devoted husband, caring father, and proud “Pops.” After a career of world travel, his favorite trips were with his wife, family, and friends, but he enjoyed nothing more than working in his garden and fishing with his grandchildren. During the last several years, Karl was the epitome of a devoted spouse as he cared for and tended to Jackie.
He was preceded in death by his beloved Jackie, parents, Archie Dee and Clara Jenkins, his sister and brother-on-law, Estella and Lorn Richens, and his son, Dr. David Karl Jenkins.
Karl is survived by his daughter-in-law, Sandra Jenkins, his son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Michael and Kimberly Jenkins, his son and daughter-in-law, Ryan and Heather Jenkins, his grandchildren, Chelsea and Steven Christopher, Courtney Jenkins, Kyle and Dr. Alex Jenkins, Lindsey Jenkins, Cody Jenkins, Lily Jenkins, Amberly Jenkins, Logan Jenkins, great grandchildren Beau Christopher and Bella Christopher, and a church full of dear and loving friends.
The family wishes to extend their deep gratitude to Karl and Jackie’s loving caregiver, Teressa Anderson, and the phenomenally caring and compassionate staff of Heart’sWay Hospice. We could not have navigated the last few weeks without all of you.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Heart’sWay Hospice, P.O. Box 5608, Longview, TX 75608.
A Zoom Webcast is available for Bro. Jenkins' service. Follow the webcast link in the videos section.
