John O. Emfinger, age 62, of Gilmer, passed away on Thursday, December 20, 2018 in Gilmer, Texas. John was born June 22, 1956 in Canton Texas to Frank and Lavada Emfinger. He served in the Army and then worked in the oilfield as a roughneck.
He is survived by his wife, DeAnna Emfinger; sons, Mike Terry and wife Teresa, Jerry Davis, Robert Emfinger; daughters, Alicia Ratley and husband Eric, Lavada Murphy and husband Rickey; siblings; Barbara, Rose, Frankie, Jimmy, John, James, JoAnn, John Henry; grandchildren Jasmine, Brent, Emma, Gracelynn, Cree, Cierra, Cheyenne, Michael; great-grandchild Keaton. He is preceded in death by his parents and sister Betty.
