Graveside services for Joel Andrew Maxwell, 28, of Ore City are scheduled for 2 PM, Sunday, January 2, 2022 at Coffeeville Cemetery. A visitation is scheduled from 5 - 7 PM, Saturday, January 1, 2022 at Grubbs-Loyd Funeral Home in Diana. Arrangements are under the direction of Grubbs-Loyd Funeral Home. He passed away on Monday, December 27, 2021 in Longview.
Joel was born on August 3, 1993 in Vicksburg, Mississippi to Richard Leslie Maxwell, Jr. and Melissa Jean Maxwell. He graduated with honors from Ore City ISD in 2011 and was employed as a Logistics Manager with Discovery Wind & Solar Energy. Joel loved being a dad to his daughters, Riley and Emma. Everything he did was always for his girls. He enjoyed getting to come home from work and spend all of his time making memories with them. Joel also enjoyed watching football on Sundays, listening to audible books as he drove, fishing and golfing with his family.
Joel is survived by his loving wife of almost 11 years: Haley Maxwell, their daughters: Riley and Emma Maxwell, his mother and father: Melissa and Joe Strutton, father: Richard Maxwell, Jr., brothers: Cory Maxwell and wife Victoria, and Kyle Strutton, sister: Caitlin Maxwell, grandparents: Inez and Ronnie Smithey, Iris Jean Jake, and Richard & Guyanna Maxwell, in-laws: Denise and Shawn Laster, nephew: Brantley, and nieces: Brooklyn and Braelynn.
He is preceded in death by his son: Rylan Maxwell and grandparents: Michael Strutton and Mike Jake.
Our family takes great comfort in knowing that Joel is now getting to make precious memories with his son, Rylan Maxwell in heaven. He will be terribly missed by all who knew him. Joel Maxwell was an amazing husband, son, father, brother, grandson, uncle and friend. He would help anyone who asked him. He has truly left a hole in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
