Jessie M. Hood

Graveside services for Jessie Hood, 85, of Gilmer, will be held at 10 AM Monday, August 19, 2013 at Kelsey Cemetery, in the Kelsey Community of Upshur County. Mrs. Hood passed away on Friday, August 16, 2013 in Gilmer. Jessie was born November 28, 1927, in Gilmer to William Taylor and Ava M. Dawson. She was a baby-sitter for many years and was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Gilmer. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Hood. Jessie is survived by 3 brothers: Sam Dawson, Blanton Dawson, and Jimmy Dawson all of Gilmer; a sister: Ruth Elizabeth McKay of Garland, and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be 6 PM to 8 PM Sunday, August 18, at Grubbs-Loyd Funeral Home in Gilmer Texas.
