Graveside services for Jerry Wayne Skinner, 65, of Gilmer, will be held on Saturday, October 11, 2014, at 4 P.M. at the Gilmer City Cemetery with Reverend Danny Trimble officiating. Born on March 8, 1949, in Gilmer, Texas, to J.P. and Bula Mae Davis Skinner, he died on Thursday, October 9, 2014. A lifelong resident of Upshur County, he was owner of Jerry Skinner's Radiator and Wrecker Service for over forty years and enjoyed every minute of it. He was an active member of Calvary Baptist Church in Gilmer. He is survived by his wife, Judy Skinner; son, Jimmy Wayne Skinner; daughter, Julie Ann Stevens; 5 grandchildren, Jael Elizabeth Skinner, Jena Marie Skinner, Kamburlee Angel Nikol Skinner, Jules Marie Stevens, and Kaylee Mae Stevens; 3 great-grandchildren, Deja Elizabeth Haley, Felton Darnell Wayne Haley, and Jeannie Marie Skinner; mother, Bula Skinner; 3 brothers, Larry Dale Skinner and wife, Cathy, Albert Clayton Skinner and wife, Cassie, and Randy Skinner; 1 sister, Sandy Alexander; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family wishes to express their gratitude to their special friends, David and Jane Shipman, Jolene Harrison, Charley Brown, Don Wheeler, Wanda Ann Davis, and Jon Wright.
