George Richard Reed, Jr.

DIANA: Graveside services for George Richard Reed, Jr, 86, of Diana will be at 10:00 A.M., Friday, November 16, 2018 at Walnut Creek Cemetery, with Pastor Guy McGraw officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Grubbs-Loyd Funeral Home in Diana. He passed away on November 12, 2018 in a Longview hospital.

George was born December 8, 1931 in Ashland, Kansas to George Richard Reed, Sr and Mary May Finley Reed. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War and later retired from Letourneau where he worked as a welder. He married Bertha Ann Henry on November 23, 1957 at Forest Home Baptist Church in Kilgore, Texas. She preceded him in death on October 27, 2014.

George is survived by sons: Curtis and Watson Reed, daughter and son-in-law: Lisa and Dave Hiles, 3 grandchildren: Joshua Reed, Cory Hiles and Chase Hiles, brother: Frank Reed, sisters: Helen Freer and Cherry Love and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, son George Reed, III and sister Louise Burlingham.
