Franklin Leon McClendon

Services for Franklin Leon McClendon, 80, of Ore City will be at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, November 26, 2016 at Grubbs-Loyd Chapel in Diana, with Neil McClendon and David Reeder officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Grubbs-Loyd Funeral Home in Diana. He passed away on November 22, 2016 at his residence.

Franklin was born August 14, 1936 in Childress, Texas to Claude and Merrill McClendon. He had retired from Chicago Bridge and Iron where he was a boilermaker fitter and he was of the Baptist faith.

He is survived by his wife: Donnie McClendon, sons and daughters-in-law: Steve and Rene McClendon, Mitchell McClendon, Neil and Marci McClendon and Casey McClendon, brother: Olen Ray McClendon, sister: Sue Petzold, grandchildren: Amanda Whitefield, Stephanie Venn, Caitlin McClendon, Amber Aguiree, Lindsey McClendon, Dylan McClendon, Trevor McClendon, Curtis McClendon, Madison McClendon, Sophie McClendon, Colton McClendon, Ripley McClendon and Trenton McClendon, great-grandchildren: Destiny Whitefield, Rylann and Teagan Venn, Landon Briggs, Eric Aguiree and Elena Aguiree, Duke Paul, Clayton and Ella McClendon.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother: Adrian McClendon, and sisters: Bennie Minchew, Allie Merrill Butts and Claudine Moran.

The family will receive visitors on Friday, November 25, 2016, 5-7 p.m. at Grubbs-Loyd Funeral Home in Diana.
