Eleanor Manning Martin

A Mass of Christian burial for Eleanor Martin, 99, of Diana, will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, November 24, 2014, at St. Mary�s Catholic Church in Longview, with Father Mark Kusmirek officiating. Interment will follow in Mattox Cemetery in Diana. Arrangements are by Grubbs-Loyd Funeral Home in Diana. Mrs. Martin passed away Thursday, November 20, 2014. She was born January 14, 1915, in Knoxville, Tennessee, to Mary Vance Manning and John Joseph Manning. She worked as a manager of food service for many years in Longview, Texas, with Faulkner�s Cafeteria, LeTourneau University Cafeteria, and Foster Junior High School Cafeteria. In addition to her parents, Eleanor was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd in 1974; grandson, Jason Scott Martin in 1988; son-in-law, James Eisel of Addison, PA; sisters, Ann Long and Kathryn Smith, both of Knoxville, Tennessee; and brothers, J. T. and John Manning of Knoxville, Tennessee, and Frank Manning of Oak Ridge, Tennessee. Survivors include two daughters, Mary Frances Eisel of Addison, PA, Martha Eva Martin and husband Chester of Diana, Texas; grandsons, Clint Jones of Addison, PA, Craig Martin of Diana, Texas, Dallas Jones of LaMesa, CA; great-grandchildren, Stephen Scott Martin and Tarynn Metcalf of Longview, Texas; brother, Gus Manning of Knoxville, Tennessee; sister-in-law, Mary Ann Manning of Oak Ridge, Tennessee; and a host of nieces and nephews. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Sunday evening, November 23, 2014, at Grubbs-Loyd Funeral Home in Diana. Charitable donations may be made to Mattox Cemetery Association, P.O. Box 271, Diana, TX 75640, or St. Jude�s Children�s Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Pl., Memphis, TN.
