Don Earl Barrett, Jr.
Mr. Don Earl Barrett, Jr., 65, of Diana passed away Tuesday, April, 6, 2021, at his home surrounded by his loving family. Services for Don are scheduled for 11:00AM, Saturday, April 10, 2021 at Grubbs-Loyd Chapel in Diana. The family will receive visitors from 9:30AM until just prior to the service at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of Grubbs-Loyd Funeral Home in Diana.
Don was born May 28, 1955 in Marshall, Texas to Don Earl Barrett Sr,. And Norma (Simpson) Barrett. He was a 1973 graduate of Longview High School and attended Kilgore College. His career spanned almost 30 years with Brookshire Grocery Company followed by five years as a sales rep for Kellogg’s. He retired from Made Rite Company in October 2020 after eight years of service. Don was an avid baseball fan and especially enjoyed the Texas Rangers Baseball and Texas Longhorns Baseball. He loved watching his boys play baseball when they were growing up and loved to golf. Each summer he looked forward to going to his happy place at the beach. He always said it was so relaxing just listening to the ocean. His favorite beach was Seven Mile Beach in the Grand Cayman’s. Most of all he was a great family man. He loved his wife, children, and grandchildren more than anything and he will be greatly missed.
Don is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Sheri Barrett, son, Corey Barrett and wife Mariana, son Chris Barrett, brother, Anthony Barrett and wife Tricia, brother, David Barrett, mother in law, Earlene Kennedy, father in law, James A. Collins and wife Deanna, sister in law, Patti Fitzgerald and husband Billy, brother in law, James D. Collins, granddaughter, Amy Joy Barrett and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Sandra White.
Pallbearers will be; James David Collins, Jr., Brandon White, Hunter Barrett, Spencer White, Rod Gatlin, and Chris Kroenke.
