Services for David Othell Loving, 87, of Gilmer, will be held 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday, February 15, 2017, at Grubbs-Loyd Funeral Home Chapel in Gilmer with Rev. Wayne Norvell officiating. Interment will follow at Willow Oak Cemetery.
David was born November 4, 1929, in Upshur County, to Elijah and Ora Cook Loving. He was a lifetime member of Willow Oak Baptist Church. He served in the United States Army during Korea as a Medic. During his military days he was awarded twelve medals including the Bronze Star. He later owned and operated his own trucking service before retirement. Mr. Loving was a member of the American Legion.
David is survived by his son, Alan Northrum; three daughters, Patricia Lowery, Delinda Bohannon, Diane Lopez; one sister: Mary Potts; thirteen grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Laura Loving; two brothers, Nicky Loving and Joseph Loving; one sister, Mayrene Davis; and stepdaughter, Sharon Fincher.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, February 14, 2017. at Grubbs-Loyd Funeral Home in Gilmer.
