David E. Gordy

Memorial services for David E. Gordy, 74, will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, January 10, 2021, at Grubbs-Loyd Funeral Home Chapel in Gilmer, with Pastor Brad Root officiating. Mr. Gordy passed away on Thursday, January 7, 2021 in Quitman, Texas.
David was born on August 5, 1946, in Dallas, Texas to Chester Earl and Annie Pearl Gordy. He worked for many years as a welder, and was affiliated with the Church of Christ in Gilmer. David enjoyed spending time around the lake. He like fishing, hunting, cooking and just being outdoors with his family and grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Rita Melton Gordy; and siblings, Martha, Lawrence, Doug, John, William, Daisy, Anna, Louise and Linda.
David is survived by daughters, Michelle Gandy and husband, Matthew, Mandy Worsham and husband, Mark, Sandy Tillery; sisters, Nedra Gordy, Mary Smith; grandchildren, Kenna, Kara, Kylie, Alyssa, Alexander, Joe, Mason, Molly, David, Daniel; and numerous nieces and nephews.
