Carmen Lollar

August 1, 1930 — March 21, 2013

DIANA �Carmen Lollar, age 82, of Harleton, TX, loving Mom and Grandmother (MeMe), peacefully went home to be with her Lord on March 21, 2013, in Longview, TX, after a brief battle with pancreatic cancer. She was born August 1, 1930, in Bessemer, Alabama, the only child of John Luther (Luke) Ledbetter and Virgie B. Pope Ledbetter. Carmen attended Harleton Schools, graduating in 1947 at the age of 16. On June 16, 1950, she married J.W. Lollar in Gilmer, TX. She worked a number of years as an Inspector for Longhorn Army Ammunition Plant at Morton Thiokol. She later worked for her classmate and friend, Tommy Barrett, as secretary of Barrett Insurance Agency in Ore City, TX, retiring in 1995. Carmen was a lifelong member of Harleton Baptist Church, having served as church clerk. She was a member of the church�s senior adult choir known as the The Harletones. Her hobbies included reading and crocheting. She enjoyed traveling with her childhood friend Imogene Jones Ross. Carmen was preceded in death by her parents, Luke and Virgie Ledbetter, her husband J.W. Lollar in 1977 and her oldest daughter, Fonda Alaine Lollar Clark in 1990. She is survived by her girls, Marcia Allise Kaminski and husband Edward John, of Harleton; Jana Michelle Holley and husband Dennis, of Wichita, Kansas; and Cami Carmette Ramsey and husband Mark, also of Harleton. She is also survived by her grandchildren Kelli Clark and Monty Stephens of Longview, Jay W. Maddox and wife Sherri of Conroe, Justin and Kevin Holley of Wichita, Kansas, and Jordan and Kaden Ramsey of Harleton; and one great-granddaughter Charli Ann Maddox of Conroe. Other survivors include her sisters-in-law Faye Cargil of Diana, TX and Sybil McIntosh of Gilmer, TX, and her brother-in-law, Joe Lollar of Diana, TX. Family and friends will be received at visitation Sunday, March 24 from 4 to 6 P.M., at Grubbs-Loyd Funeral Home in Diana. Funeral services will be Monday, March 25, 2013 at 10 A.M. at Harleton Baptist Church, Harleton, TX with Brother Harry Lee Wilson and Brother Will Sherman officiating. Burial will follow at Center Cemetery in Harleton, TX with Brother Gary Hill officiating. Pallbearers will be Ronnie Pope, Cody Newman, Grant Newman, Harvey Fox, Bill Harper and Richard Hardy. Honorary pallbearers will be Allen Pope, Tad Poutinen, Waymon Lumpkin, her sons-in-law, Edward Kaminski, Dennis Holley and Mark Ramsey, and her grandsons, Jay W. Maddox, Justin Holley, Kevin Holley and Kaden Ramsey. The girls wish to express their appreciation for the loving care given their Mom by Dr. Valerie Allman and Sandra Helton of I.M.G., Julie Wyatt, Angela Prince and the staff of Pine Tree Lodge Nursing Home and also Heart�sWay Hospice. In lieu of flowers, the family request contributions are made in her memory to Heart�sWay Hospice at P.O. Box 5608, Longview, TX. 75608. Carmen will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
