Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Grubbs-Loyd Funeral Home in Gilmer. Born on October 30, 1946, in Kenmare, North Dakota, he died on Thursday, June 26, 2014. He was a rancher. He is survived by his wife, Cassie Nelson of Ore City; 2 sons, Troy Nelson of Ore City and Trever Nelson of Royse City; 1 daughter, Tondalyn Kaufman of Gilmer; 8 grandchildren; 2 brothers, Carmie Nelson of Kenmare, North Dakota and Curtis Nelson of Stanley, North Dakota; and 1 sister, Collette Maxwell of Hamilton, Montana.
