Services for Bonnie Fay Caldwell, 83, of Ore City, Texas will be at 2:00 pm, Sunday, December 22, 2013 at Oak Hill Missionary Baptist Church in Bettie, Texas. Brother Wayne McKay and Dicky Mauk will be Officiating. Interment will be at Enon Cemetery in Gilmer, Texas. Arrangements are under the direction of Grubbs-Loyd Funeral Home in Gilmer. Bonnie passed away Thursday December 19, 2013. Bonnie Caldwell was a lifetime resident of Upshur County. She was born December 23, 1929 in Ewell Community to Jack Wesley and Gussie Mae Pittmon. She married Charley Udell Caldwell on October 31, 1948 at Indian Rock. She was a retired secretary for the City of Ore City, Texas, her tenure there lasting from 1982 to 2011, and she served on the City Council there from 2011 to the present. She was an Honorary Police Officer for the City of Ore City. Mrs. Caldwell was a long-time member of Coffeeville Missionary Baptist Church, and a current member of Oak Hill Missionary Baptist Church. She was named Upshur County Citizen of the Year in 2008 as well as serving as a member of the Chamber of Commerce for the City of Gilmer. She is preceded in death by her parents Jack Wesley Pittmon and Gussie Mae Carpenter Pittmon; her husband Charley Udell Caldwell; sister and brother-in-law Patsy and Travis Jones; brother and sister-in-law Duran and Ollie Pittmon; nephews Richard and Mike Pittmon. Surviving Mrs. Caldwell is her brother-in-law and sister-in-law Alvin and Lawrence Caldwell; Brother and sister-in-law Doyle and Kay Pittmon; brother Larry Pittmon; brother and sister-in-law Jerry and Frankie Pittmon; son and daughter-in-law Robbie and Janice Caldwell of New Harmony; daughters and sons-in-law Sherry and Tom Schupbach of Ellinwood, Kansas, Sandra and Jackie Morris of Carrollton; son and daughter-in-law Steve and Judy Caldwell of Allen; 9 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Pallbearers are Chuck Morris, Bradley Ellison, Jason Caldwell, Sam Schupbach, Richard Caldwell, Randall Schupbach. Visitation will be at Grubbs-Loyd Funeral Home in Gilmer, Texas, Saturday December 21, 2013 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Oak Hill Missionary Baptist Church, 3975 FM 2088, Gilmer, Texas 75644.
