Billy Darvon Hammond DIANA �Memorial services for Bill D. Hammond, 81, of Ore City will be 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, May 21, 2014 at Lakeview Baptist Church at 14426 Camp Joy Road in Ore City, with Brother Wayne Norvel and Brother Brian Johnson officiating. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Grubbs-Loyd Funeral Home in Diana. He passed away May 18, 2014 at his residence. Bill was born December 31, 1932 in Wood County to Robert and Ida Hammond. He was a civil engineer by trade and the owner of a contracting business. Bill was a member of Lakeview Baptist Church where he was a deacon for many years. He served his country in the U.S. Army in Korea. Bill married Norma Kate Rowe Hammond on May 4, 2006, in Linden, Texas. He is survived by his beloved wife: Norma Kate Hammond, sons: Robert Hammond & wife Karen of Houston, and Danny Campbell of Ore City, brother: Bobby Hammond and wife Carol of Mims, sister: Glenda Davis and husband Homer of Omaha, grandchildren: Meridith Hammond, Kaylee, Jaydan, Kyle and Dylan Campbell and great-grandchild: Rory Savage.
