Alvis Murrell DIANA �Services for Alvis Murrell, 86, of Ore City will be at 3:00 P.M., Saturday, January 5, 2013 at Coffeeville Baptist Church, in Ore City, with Reverend Jack Hoffpauir officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Grubbs-Loyd Funeral Home in Diana. Interment will be at Coffeeville Cemetery. He passed away January 1, 2013 in Tyler. Alvis was born April 18, 1926 in Upshur County, Texas to George & Zoe Johnson Murrell. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII and later retired from LSS as a crane operator. Alvis was a member of the Coffeeville Baptist Church. He is survived by his daughter & son-in-law: Sondra & Tommy Thompson, sister: Bessie Cavitt, grandchildren: Jennifer Wright, Michael Suber, Amber Cash, Stephen Murrell & Shawn Murrell, 8 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Alvis is preceded in death by his parents, wife: Frances Harris Murrell, and sons: Tony and Paul Murrell. No formal visitation has been planned by the family.
