Tracy Edward Brittain

June 4, 1960 — June 18, 2018

Tracy Edward Brittain, aged 58 years, went to be with his Savior on Monday, June 18, 2018. Born on June 4, 1960 in Shreveport, Louisiana, Tracy was the youngest of the five children of the late Dock Brittain, and Rusty Brittain. A graduate of Trinity Heights Christian Academy in 1978, he then enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corp as a reservist, serving honorably for 6 years. A lifelong patriot, he was extremely proud of his military service and his country. Tracy was a loyal employee of Southwestern Electric Power Co. for over 30 years.

Tracy married Lisa Bruce Brittain, the mother of his children, in July of 1982. They were happily married for 25 years and continued to love each other for the rest of his life. Tracy was fiercely proud of his baby girl, Caroline and son, Will and said they were the greatest gifts he’d ever received from God. He loved hiking and swimming in Arkansas with his family and building river dams to create the perfect swimming holes for his kids. An avid outdoorsman, Tracy loved to hunt, and go jeeping in the San Juan Mountains of Colorado. A skilled craftsman and gardener, he was known to show up at friends and families houses with a sack full of his prized tomatoes. Tracy was known by all as a hardworking, honest, and loyal friend that would give you the shirt off his back.

His beloved father, William Martin “Dock” Brittain, and two brothers, Charley and Bradley Brittain, precede Tracy in death. He will be remembered by his mother, Glorias Anita “Rusty” Brittain of Mooringsport, LA, to whom he was a devoted son. His memory will also be cherished by his daughter, Caroline Brittain of Waxahachie, TX, and his son William and adored daughter-in-law Bianca Brittain of Los Angeles, CA. He is also survived by his sister Toni and brother-in-law Rick McMillan of Vivian, LA, brother Marty and sister-in-law Patsy Brittain, and two sisters-in-law Vicki Brittain and Victoria Brittain - all of Shreveport, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was loved and will be remembered by his treasured girlfriend, Regina Morton Alexander of Mt. Pleasant, TX.

Funeral services will be held at Mooringsport Baptist Church on Monday June 25th. There will be a visitation starting at 10am with a service at 11am. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Navy-Marine Relief Society in Tracy’s memory.
